Partnership declared with Joliet Junior College

At the beginning of March, the University of St. Francis (USF) and Joliet Junior College (JJC) officially announced their partnership project that is intended to make higher education more accessible to all students. This partnership, called “The Bridge Forward Partnership,” is intended to encourage current JJC students to continue their education locally at our four-year institution.

This partnership is making an effort to alleviate the stress of transferring from a two-year institution to a four-year institution. Students at JJC will have the opportunity to transfer a minimum of 60 credits or their Associate’s Degree to earn progress toward their Bachelor’s Degree. Additionally, JJC students will be eligible for exclusive transfer-specific scholarships and early financial aid counseling. Partnering with JJC eases the transition process and encourages students to stay local with additional tuition discounts.

USF and JJC are combining forces in an effort to renew the region in which they reside. By developing this partnership, students have the opportunity to complete their degree locally, strengthen the community, support workforce development and strengthen local employers and their opportunity for economic growth.

Students from JJC have been transferring to USF prior to the partnership. As changes surface through this process, the standards for incoming transfer students remain the same. All transfer students will need to have maintained continuous enrollment at JJC, maintained good academic standing, completed core requirements and submitted an application to transfer to USF.  Transfer students will be eligible to complete any of the Bachelor’s degree programs offered at USF. JJC students are not limited in their transfer opportunities at USF.

The Office of Admissions at USF has a designated transfer admission counselor available to help prospective transfer students. USF has put together resources to make this a seamless process for JJC students.

Congrats on the new partnership between USF and JJC! It's awesome to see more local pathways for students to keep learning. On a related note, I’ve been using Free Analog Clock Online to help my younger sibling practice telling time—it's perfect for quick worksheets and makes studying fun.
