The somewhat-famous singer Aaron Carter, 28, took to Twitter today to endorse Donald Trump in the race for president. Carter responsed to one of Trump's tweets saying, "Does America want to have a president who FOLLOWS or someone who leads? I vote For @realdonaldtrump."
The most bizarre part is that Carter went on a public rant on Twitter and retweeted ANY Twitter reply to fuel the fire.
This response sparked a great divide between Carter fans, some deciding that it's time to leave "Aaron's Party:"
Other's standing up for his right to his political view:
And many just taking it way, way too far:
Carter certainly is not the first celebrity to voice their support of Trump. However, he certainly has received the biggest response for voicing his political views.
Carter relentlessly defended himself by tweeting and quote-tweeting things such as, "..No I don't support ALL of what @realDonaldTrump is doing but 70% of me agrees so [F---] OFF." (He wasn't as polite as we are...But you get the point.) He noted that he is a strong supporter of the LGBT community by exclaiming to the Twitterverse, "LISTEN TO ME CAREFULLY if Donald Trump doesn't support the LGBT community I'm not voting for him. PERIOD!!"
After a fan called Carter out for being "racist" for supporting Trump (due to the fact that Trump has repeatedly promised to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S. if he is elected president,) Carter replied: "I am NOT racist I’ve been touring the world & diversifying myself in a plethora of cultures since I was 7 years old."
Once Carter felt things were getting out of hand, he went on Periscope to speak his mind further in a profanity-filled video.
So, I think we can all agree that we have learned some things today from Aaron Carter:
1. Politics are a touchy subject,
2. Don't feed the trolls, and
3. When Aaron C's in the house, you better come with it (...Because he's literally going to have a meltdown and spend his entire day responding to every @ reply).
