Animal or Food? The Internet's New Favorite Meme

Recently, 25-year-old Karen Zack (@teenybiscuit) has gifted the Internet with its latest meme that has many asking "animal or food?” On November 20, 2015, Zack posted a tweet asking "duckling or plantain?" as the caption for this photo:

On March 2, Zack posted a follow up, "labradoodle or fried chicken?" This is when the meme really started to take off. Zack has gained a huge following along with hundreds of thousands of retweets and "likes."

Buzz about the new meme didn’t stop at the Internet either; the meme has received coverage from ABC News, Fox News, New York Magazine and THE Huffington Post. It has left many smiling and contemplating the following:

Puppy or bagel?

Chihuahua or muffin?

Shiba or marshmallow?

And Zack’s most recent juxtaposition, parrot or guacamole?

The Internet has responded with some of their own analogies:

Pomeranian or pancake?

And the hilarious Donald Trump or raw chicken?

"I was so shocked to see them go viral, on [International Women's Day] no less," Zack said to ABC News. "It's exciting to be recognized for making people laugh."
