Nintendo Rereleases SNES Games on New 3DS
Thanks to popular demand, Nintendo has just rereleased three Super Nintendo (SNES) games for the 3DS. These games include Mario Kart, EarthBound and Donkey Kong Country. They are now available for purchase on the 3DS eShop for $8 each.
While many Nintendo fans are excited to be able to add more classic games to their library, Nintendo has been criticized for not offering discounts to those who already own the game on Wii or Wii U. Availability has also been an issue for these games, as they are only available for purchase on the New 3DS and not the prior edition of the 3DS.
Nintendo fans have been requesting for older system games to rerelease for a while, and many are most excited for EarthBound, which was among the most requested games. The first wave of SNES games to be released for purchase on 3DS launched on March 3 and included games such as Pilotwings, F-Zero and Super Mario World. The next group of games that are being rereleased are popular titles like Super Metroid, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Donkey Kong Country 2; they will be available starting April 14.
Many fans hope that these games, and others to be rereleased in the future, will soon be available to play on consoles released before the new 3DS. Nintendo fans also look forward to the release of the mobile augmented reality game Pokémon Go, which is reported to be releasing later this year.
