Harry Potter-themed Yule Ball Coming to Joliet Barnes and Noble

December 9, 2016

Calling all witches, wizards and even muggles. On December 9 at 7:00 p.m., select Barnes and Noble stores will be hosting a Harry Potter-themed “Winter Magical Ball” that many "Harry Potter" fans will recognize as being heavily inspired by the Yule Ball from “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.”

This year has been quite busy for “Potterheads” (the name given to avid “Harry Potter” fans), as the sequel to the franchise, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” hit the stage – giving us a look into Harry and his friends’ adult life. Not to mention, J.K. Rowling came up with an entirely new franchise in the wizarding world that follows Magizoologist, Newt Scamander, in the first film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” J.K. Rowling announced that the "Fantastic Beasts” franchise will be an entirety of five films.

Barnes and Noble wants everyone to join in on the magic by attending the “Winter Magical Ball” which will include Harry Potter-themed crafts, wizarding games, enchanting music and spellbinding surprises. The night will also include dancing, photo-ops and “Chamber of Secrets: Illustrated Edition” poster giveaways (while supplies last). It is encouraged, although not required, to dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character or to wear your holiday best to this magical event.

The Joliet Barnes and Noble located at 2621 Plainfield Road will be hosting the event. To find a Barnes and Noble near you that is hosting a Harry Potter-inspired “Winter Magical Ball,” click here
