Bowler’s Ed Gives Bowling Education Grants to 42 Schools and Organizations

Bowling equipment and curriculum kits were awarded to 42 schools and organizations to help teach children the sport of bowling, through the help of Bowler’s Ed In-School Bowling program.
Bowler’s Ed is a curriculum and equipment-based physical education program intended to introduce students to the sport of bowling using an easy, fun and fitness-oriented lesson plan. Bowler’s Ed is operated by the International Bowling Campus (IBC) Youth Development Team, supported by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America (BPAA).
Bowler’s Ed works with schools, bowling centers, associations and other organizations to bring bowling curriculums and enhance teaching systems through the easy use of bowling equipment. They bring bowling centers and associations together with schools in the community to ensure bowling is a top choice for physical educators for their students.
The equipment kits help schools and organizations teach students the sport and engage them in a true bowling experience. They provide the atmosphere of a bowling-center in a school or gymnasium and include activities to enhance cardiovascular health, coordination and endurance, per BOWL.com.
The grants from Bowler’s Ed could ultimately impact more than 35,000 children in the 42 schools and organizations who have received them. The kits are valued at $2,200. In 2016, 65 grants were awarded to public and charter schools and organizations in 29 states.
The Bowler’s Ed objective is to “promote a lifelong enjoyment of bowling by fostering youth and community health and fitness programs, maintaining the value of sportsmanship, character development and leadership skills, while providing research, education and training for the bowling community and its athletes,” according to BOWL.com.
