Life Hacks by Mat: Last Resort Pudding Spoon
This past Tuesday, I got a chance to try out a new life hack while stranded at my church due to a tornado. The rain was going crazy and the tornado sirens were flaring and I was in the kitchen trying out how to eat my delicious cup of pudding.
A junior high kid at my church let me know that you can easily transform a pudding cup lid into a spoon. All you need to do is mold the aluminum pull-off tab into a wide, flat end on one end and a skinny point on the other if you want it to look like a spoon.
This hack is useful for when you want to eat pudding but there just aren’t any spoons in the area. Maybe you’re having a picnic and you forgot the eating utensils or your stranded in a basement because of a tornado. I was on a camping trip one time and a friend of mine used his fingers to eat the pudding out of a cup because we didn’t have spoons. This life hack would have been perfect for him if only I had known it at the time.
So, the real question is, how well did it work? I won’t lie. Using the pudding cup lid as a spoon was sort of awkward. Maybe I’m just not the best at shaping pudding lids into spoons, but the texture felt weird on my mouth. I wouldn’t really recommend doing this if you have access to a plastic or metal spoon. It is sort of a last resort life hack, but works in a pinch.
