The Las Vegas Gunman: What We Know About Him
Three days after what is considered to be the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, investigators appear no closer to solving the question: Why? Why did the gunman continue firing with an arsenal of weapons for up to 11 minutes, leaving at least 58 people dead and more than 500 with gunshot wounds or stampede injuries?
According to CNN, Paddock's motive and aims still remain a mystery to investigators. His girlfriend at the time, Marilou Danley, issued her first public statement since the shooting claiming she "did not know he had been planning to harm anyone." In her statement, she said Paddock sent her on a trip to the Philippines and wired her money once she arrived there.
