Huey Lewis and the News Coming to Joliet

Joliet Park District officials announced that Huey Lewis and the News will be the Friday night headliner for the annual Taste of Joliet. “Adding Huey Lewis to this year’s lineup has been on our radar for some time and to be able to lock them in, we are very excited”, said Joliet Park District Deputy Director, Brad Staab.

The fans have been asking for him for quite some time now and they will now have their wish.

Traditionally, the Friday night entertainment is made up of legendary rock and roll bands like Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Kansas, who have all had some of the biggest crowds at the Taste of Joliet within the last 5 years.

Staab made the announcement on the Scott Slocum Show and added that the rest of our Friday line up is almost complete, but we are still working on finishing that up. When asked about when the announcement for the Saturday night country concert headlining act Staab said, “We are hoping to make that announcement before February.”

Staab also stated that this year’s country act will be in line with the trend of recent years. In recent years, the Taste of Joliet has hosted some of most recognizable country music stars to date like Josh Turner, Brett Eldridge, Dan + Shay, and just last year Billy Currington.

The Taste of Joliet will be held from June 22-24 at the ATI Field inside the Joliet Memorial Stadium. Tickets are now on sale with prices starting at $11.00 for general admission and $47.50 for Front Section Reserved. Visit www.tasteofjoliet.com to purchase your tickets today.
