WCSF’s Fifth Annual Rummage Sale Set For Saturday, October 19

WCSF-FM 88.7, the nonprofit radio station at the University of St. Francis (USF) will be holding their fifth annual “Mega Music Rummage Sale” on Saturday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to www.stfrancis.edu, The sale will take place at the University of St Francis’ St. Clare Campus (Guardian Angel Home/Assembly Hall) – which is located at 1550 Plainfield Road in Joliet, Ill.

People throughout the community have donated vinyl records, compact discs, cassettes, sheet music, music books, musical instruments, stereo equipment and other music-related items to sell. For months, USF students have been organizing and cataloging the items for the event. While the radio station is mostly known for its “Spirit of Christmas” program from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, WCSF-FM 88.7 also allows USF students to program and operate their own radio shows.

Angelica Bibian, USF senior and designer of the “Mega Music Rummage Sale” advertisement says, “Preparing for this rummage sale has been a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it in the end. This event has been happening for five years now, so obviously we are doing something right. It gives the community another way to give back to USF and it doesn’t require large amounts of money. I’m excited to see how it all turns out this year!”

According to www.stfrancis.edu, “Admission to the event during its scheduled time is free of charge.” If you would like to arrive to the event earlier, “Early Bird” admission is at 8 a.m. and is a $10 donation. Prices for items listed above will begin at 25 cents. The donations

received from this event will be used for WCSF-FM 88.7 at USF and will be an asset to those participating in radio classes, clubs, etc. For more information, please visit wcsf.fm.
