"Spooky Saints" at USF on Halloween

October 30, 2019

The University of St. Francis (USF) will be hosting “Spooky Saints” on Thursday, October 31 for the Joliet community. The Spooky Saints event, previously known as "Trunk or Treat," is an annual tradition where children and families come to USF to trick-or-treat on Halloween. The annual event, sponsored by the Residence Hall Association, will take place at the Marian Abbey located at 604 Taylor Street from 4 to 7 p.m. Children are invited to come dressed in their favorite costume to have fun, play games and win prizes. The Spooky Saints event is designed as a safe space for Joliet residents to enjoy Halloween. Student leaders and faculty will be present to assist the families on campus.

The University of St. Francis is always proud to support the local Joliet community in any ways they can. The Spooky Saints event is a great way for children and families to interact with USF to know they are always welcome on campus. One of the core values at USF is compassion for all people. USF says, “We are always aware of the call to love our neighbors as ourselves, we strive to open our hearts to all others. We seek to form loving relationships thereby promoting empathy, forgiveness and peace in the global community. We work to build up God’s people everywhere, to bring reconciliation, and to act as instruments of change for future generations.” For more information about USF’s Spooky Saints event, contact the Dean of Student Life, Mollie Rockafellow, at 815-740-3381.

In addition, the City of Joliet’s Trick-or-Treat hours for 2019 are from 4 to 7 p.m. The City of Joliet announced on social media to “start getting those little ghouls, goblins, princesses and superheroes ready."

Be safe and have a happy Halloween!
